[week 05] Production stage 1


Hi

After last week we continued to add the features we tested in the prototype stage aswell as tweaked some other components of our game. Ruben and Jonas did also finish the implementation of the major component of our game, the task system.


So what did we exactly do this week

[Camera]

last week we weren't really that happy with how the camera turned out. Our previous camera resulted in models being stretched out and it overall did'nt feel right. So we lowered the FOV and did some testing with different world offsets and camera angle.

[Character selection and mode selection]

Last week the game could only be played with 2 players and a specific character was locked to a specific controller. This week, I, Pieter, added a way to let the player decide which mode they want to play, either 1v1, 1v2 or 2v2 depending on how many players want to play. After that players can select the character they want to play with either being the baby or the teen.

Besides that I also fixed a lot of previous unknown bugs or added functions other dev members needed.

[movement & park]

After testing different version of movement we fixed movement and learned more about unity's charactercontroller. Besides  movement we implemented the park again and improved it a lot. Now the baby can move around in the park.


[ui]

Different ui ha been added as well.  First we have an improved verion of our popup buttons that are easier to use and are more performant. A small progress bar has been added for our new version of the steal mechanic. At last we have our tasklist with visuals this time showing  nicely everything you need to know and you can hide it now.


[other mechanics]

As mentioned before the steal mechanic has been reworked to a minibattle where a small progressbar shows who is winning. The teen's special ability is also implemented to show all the items the baby's have hidden.

[behind the scene]

A lot of code has been made that we use behind the scene which makes coding easier for us. 


[Art]

This week i had to focus on the textures of the moddels of previous week.

I'm fairly happy how it turned out, some of them like the sink and stove i want to redo.


After some feedback of the feedback from the teachers they told me to use a swatch texture instead of adding different material slots.

Furthermore I,ve created the ui, buttons, and overlays 


previous week I used CAT inside of max for rigging, sooo jeah I gaveup on that idea and looked up how to use the autorigger in maya.

Afther getting some tips from Keltic it worked. Then i could finally finish all the rigs. 

The autoRig result was desent only the skinning needed to be redone, and i've added bones for the nose physics



Yaaay look at al those rigs, Let the animation begin!
