[week 04] Production stage 1
Hi
So one week later then planned, we were finally able to 'discard' the prototype and started working on the real deal. Even tho we were a week behind schedule, I feel like we made up some time by working a bit extra.
So what did we do this week?
[Movement]
At the moment we use a character controller to move our character on our map, but we`re having some problems with it, that the characters start hovering.
[Dynamic camera]
We also spiced up the camera. It wil now follow the midpoint between all the characters in the scene.
[Pick up]
Both characters are now able to pick up objects. The baby can only carry 1 item while the teen can carry 2.
[Item throw]
Next up, we added throw mechanism. This will later be used for interactions between both players.
[Baby pickup]
At last we implemented the first 'real' interaction between characters. The teen can now pick up a baby if the teen has nothing in his hands. Later on the teen will be able to put the baby in a time-out zone. The baby is still able to pick up items while he/she is being carried by the teen.

At this stage I was providing the programmers with some meshes that they could use to populate the build of this week.
The meshes still need to be unwrapped and textured ofcourse, also i need to redo Some Because they arent clearly readable at this camera angle.

Im trying something new to rig instead of using maya, I use the CAT animation pluguin for max.
The rigging itself goes fast but soft skinning is timeconsuming
As you van see the result is Ok but,
Theres more work on skinning :)
